Review on Wongamania Banana Economy : A fun & challenging financial economic board game.

Last week, I attended WongaMania's launch event at Borders, The Curve. Before I proceed further, I would like to thank Ittify & WongaMania for the invitation. It was indeed an honour to be selected as one of the first few to get my hands on this game!

Here is a picture taken with 2 beautiful ladies during the launch (:

Us having a great time during the campaign learning about finance, the economy & investing.

During the event, I could tell that everyone had so much fun learning, being competitive in trying to win the game, laughing at each other and totally ignoring their smartphones. I think this is a very good game for a circle of friends to socialize & interact more with each other rather than just staring at their smartphones or busy with social media as this is what the society does nowadays.

During my teenage days, I have always been a spendthrift person and I didn't really know how to manage my money. This game really opened my eyes and gave me an insight on how to.

Want to know how? Read on!

Before we started playing the game, we were all required to pick a card which best suits us and here is mine, the TRUST FUND!! :D Basically I like to win,.. That's just how I am so later below you'll know why I chose this card.

To start the game, you should first know that there are different types of cards in the game which includes the Assets, Professional, Incident, Global, Insurance card & more..

Every player will get 3 Wongas (which is also known as your money) & 4 Opportunity cards at the beginning. These opportunity cards can be played by placing them down during your turn. Depending on the current economic condition and the near future, there will be a good time to buy your assets to accumulate wealth. However, because the economy will go up and down, you should know when to sell off those assets to cut your losses as well.

On the other hand, Incident cards are the most fun for me because you get to put your friends into deep shit and you get to look at their cute angry faces :P

These are the bank cards where you keep your Wongas safe.

Next up, the board. It consist of four stages of the economic cycle which are Recovery, Growth, Stagnant & Recession. Then, we have the market price which shows how many Wongas are required to buy Stock & Property cards. Then we come to the Profit Grid, which determines how many Wongas are to be collected or paid for each Asset card played.

An image of how the game will look like.

Lastly, in order to win the game, you will need to buy 3 Trust Funds which cost 8 Wongas each and this explains why I chose this card even before learning how to play! :DDDDDD
(My mind works in mysterious ways - need 3 Trust Funds, be a Trust  Fund!)

My thoughts: I strongly recommend this game to all my friends & all of you as it is a great way to learn how to smartly plan your finances before investing with real money and a plus point for me, I'm a huge sucker for cute stuff, so I really love the characters in this game! They're really really cute!!!
